Our Assistant Management Accountants Support the finance team in preparing, analysing, and reporting financial information to aid decision-making across the business. This role involves assisting with monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and reconciliations. The position works closely with Finance Manager and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and control. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and complete comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to reporting deadlines. Assist with a range of accounting activities, including the posting of journal entries, accruals, and prepayments. Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and related financial reporting. Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate finalisation of financial statements. Provide cover and support for both the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions as required. Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support financial planning. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and support the implementation of new systems and procedures. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across departments. Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in management accounting, ideally within a diverse and hands-on finance environment. Prior exposure to the construction industry is advantageous. Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Sage 200 is highly desirable, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting systems. Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting. Organisational Abilities: Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively. Autonomy and Initiative: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability and meeting deadlines. Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working within a finance team and engaging with wider business stakeholders.
