Job Description Head of Funding, Planning & Performance Nantwich (Further Education Sector) Full Time | Permanent About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic leader to join a progressive further education provider in the East Midlands as Head of Funding, Planning & Performance. This senior role is responsible for leading the Management Information Systems (MIS) function, overseeing funding, registry, business intelligence, and examinations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, maximising funding income, and providing high-quality performance reporting to support both operational and strategic decision-making. As a member of the senior management team, you will work closely with curriculum and leadership colleagues to drive data-informed improvements and ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements across Further Education, Apprenticeships, and Higher Education provision. Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and strategic direction for MIS, including Registry, Exams, and Business Intelligence Oversee funding returns (ILR, HESES) and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness Develop and enhance data systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to support performance management Lead on student data audits and ensure robust data quality assurance processes Work collaboratively with curriculum and apprenticeship teams to maximise funding opportunities Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and examination frameworks Promote a strong data-driven culture across the organisation Develop and manage high-performing teams
About You We are looking for a confident and forward-thinking leader who brings:
Significant experience in MIS, funding, or data management within education Strong understanding of FE/HE funding methodologies and reporting requirements Proven experience managing complex data systems and producing insightful reporting Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong cross-functional relationships Experience of leading and developing teams Strong technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail Knowledge of examination regulations and data compliance (desirable)
