Job Description
This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in your local office at least 2 days a week.
As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.
Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.
What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people!
Joining us as a Release Train Engineer
We’re looking for a highly capable Release Train Engineer to lead the delivery of complex IT programmes in a technically diverse environment. This role is critical to the successful transition of our IME programme—an ecosystem that blends IT and telecoms infrastructure—into long-term IT Delivery. You’ll bring strong programme management expertise, with telco experience, and play a key role in establishing a new Agile Release Train from the ground up.
You’ll receive a competitive salary, a performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing.
This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
* Leading complex IT programme delivery with a focus on integration between IT and telecoms systems
* Supporting the transition of the IME programme from external to internal delivery teams
* Driving the setup and launch of a new Agile Release Train to support long-term delivery
* Managing cross-team dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment across the programme
* Coaching Agile teams and leaders in SAFe and Lean-Agile practices
* Ensuring transparency and continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle
What you’ll bring to the role
You’ll be a seasoned IT programme manager with experience in telco environments and a passion for Agile delivery. You’ll also have:
* Proven experience managing complex, large-scale IT programmes
* Hands-on experience delivering in telecoms or network-integrated environments
* A background in IT application development or platform/software engineering
* Strong understanding of Agile at scale, ideally with experience launching a new Release Train
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
