An exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a senior position within an impact and planning team, managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related environmental planning projects. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality advice, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage environmental planning projects, from feasibility through to completion
* Oversee the preparation and review of EIAs, Screening and Scoping Requests, and related technical reports
* Provide strategic advice on environmental planning matters, including TCPA and DCO schemes
* Manage workloads, budgets, and resourcing for a small team
* Liaise with clients, statutory consultees, local authorities, and community stakeholders
* Contribute to business development, including tenders, proposals, and marketing activities
* Maintain awareness of emerging environmental and planning legislation and best practice
* Support team growth, mentoring, and professional development
Key Requirements
* 6+ years’ post-qualification experience in consultancy or public sector
* Degree or master’s in environmental planning, policy, development, or a related subject
* Strong working knowledge of EIA regulations and UK planning/environmental legislation
* Confident project manager with experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects
* Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commercially aware, with an interest in business development
* Ideally full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA, RTPI, CIEEM)
