About the Role
Complete classroom services are seeking a creative, organised, and technically skilled Media and Drama Technician to join a vibrant school we are working with in Performing Arts and Media departments.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting student creativity and technical learning in a dynamic school environment.
You will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by managing equipment, assisting with performances and productions, and helping students develop their technical theatre skills. From maintaining costumes, props, cameras, and lighting to editing performance footage and creating promotional materials, your expertise will help bring our productions to life.
The role also involves:
* Providing technical support for performances, events, and exams.
* Supporting students taking the BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts, including those following a technical pathway.
* Running lunchtime clubs and training sessions to inspire and develop students' skills.
* Coordinating work experience placements for T-Level students.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain costumes, props, and technical equipment, ensuring everything is catalogued, organised, and ready for use.
* Support the editing, cataloguing, and submission of student work for assessments and external examinations.
* Set up, maintain, and operate stage lighting, sound, and projection equipment for performances and events.
* Train students in lighting and other technical theatre skills to support their vocational learning.
* Create resources and visual materials, including set pieces, props, and promotional content.
* Support students with the filming and editing of audition videos and showreels for Drama School and University applications.
* Facilitate lunchtime clubs and additional training sessions to develop students' technical skills.
* Work collaboratively with staff and external organisations to coordinate work experience opportunities for students.
* Ensure all studios and teaching spaces are well-maintained, safe, and ready for lessons and rehearsals.
* Contribute to department meetings and the ongoing development of the Performing Arts and Media provision.

Experience with BTEC Performing Arts, T-Level programmes, or technical theatre would be an advantage.
