Description Senior Child Employment and Entertainment Officer | 9174 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £43,711 to £48,227 per annum | Grade K | County Hall An opportunity to be part of an innovative team that makes a difference to the education and safeguarding of children in Norfolk. Working in our Service will give you the opportunity to lead a team to regulate activity and provide support so that children are safeguarded when participating in employment and entertainment activities and their education is not negatively impacted. Working alongside a range of services within the Council as well as external organisations, the successful candidate will lead on ensuring that the Local Authority discharges its statutory duties in relation to child employment and the licensing of children who take part in performances. The post holder will be responsible for oversight and management of procedures for issuing work permits, Child Performance Licences and Chaperone Licences ensuring that these processes are efficient and comply with regulatory and legislative requirements. As well as leading a small team, a key aspect of this work will be to promote awareness of the legislation and regulations to a range of stakeholders including employers, the entertainment industry, parents, schools and children. It will also involve investigation of complaints and reports of illegal or unsafe practice in this area, instigating legal proceedings where required. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised manager with experience of delivering regulatory functions who is able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and IT skills. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate initiative, have the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and be able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
