Main duties of the job
Main duties will include supporting patients face to face or by telephone, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Our team consists of 4 Partners, 2 salaried GP's, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCA's, Nurse Associate, Physios and Pharmacists and we are a well-established Training Practice for GP Registrars and Medical Students.
We have over 1200 registered patients and are Part of Hawthorn & Merchiston PCN.
We have a very supportive and enthusiastic management team, excellent administrative and a reception team who are well supported.
Job responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities To Include:
Receiving and calling patients
Navigating patients to to correct service
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
Taking messages and passing on information
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required
Arranging transport for patients where appropriate
Scanning documents into patients records
Other general duties as required
Person Specification Experience
* Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multi-task
* Be personable and professional in approach
* Ability to use IT systems
* Ability to work within a small team
* Self motivated and proactive
* Be flexible and responsive to the changing needs and priorities of the team/practice
