Overview
The Barbican’s Visual Arts team is looking for an Exhibition Organiser to work across its dynamic programme on a 12‑month fixed term basis. This key role ensures coordination and logistical arrangements for the Visual Arts programme, working with the Senior Manager and the entire Visual Arts team to maintain high standards of practice in caring for exhibits, artist collaborations, and logistical arrangements for exhibitions and commissions both within London and at partner venues internationally.
Responsibilities
Report to the Senior Manager and collaborate with the Visual Arts team to ensure the highest standard of practice in relation to the care of exhibits, work with artists, and coordinate and arrange logistics for exhibitions and commissions.
* Exhibit organisation and coordination for multiple projects, ensuring accurate schedule and logistical arrangements.
* Liaise with artists and external partners to coordinate exhibitions and artist commissions.
* Maintain detailed records and manage registrarial work related to exhibitions.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication, administrative and organisation skills, able to work well under pressure both independently and as part of a dynamic and supportive team.
* Proven experience in the art world, particularly exhibition delivery, registrarial work, and working on artist commissions.
* Experience working across multiple projects, demonstrating relevant practical experience.
