1:1 Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Primary School Position: 1:1 Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Location: Bury, Greater Manchester (accessible via bus, tram, on-site parking available) Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-3:30 pm (term-time, long-term) Start Date: September 2025 About the Role You will: Provide dedicated, one-to-one support to a Year 2 pupil exhibiting challenging behaviours due to engagement or frustration. Act as a calm, constant presence, helping the child to stay focused, engaged, and integrated into the classroom routine. Work closely with the class teacher and senior leadership to implement behaviour‑management strategies, supporting the pupil both academically and emotionally. What We're Looking For We need someone who: Ideally has experience working 1:1 with primary-aged children, especially in behaviour-related roles, however training can be provided Is skilled in de‑escalation and redirection techniques, using positive reinforcement to support the child. Understands safeguarding procedures and holds or can obtain an enhanced DBS check. Shows empathy, patience, resilience, and enthusiasm for supporting a child's social, emotional, and educational development. Why Join Us?
