Psychology Graduate Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: South Shields
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing

We are recruiting a Psychology Graduate Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a specialist education setting.
This role supports children who may present with challenging behaviour linked to emotional regulation difficulties or previous negative experiences of education.
You will work alongside experienced staff to help pupils develop positive coping strategies and re-engage with learning in a structured environment.
Key responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with behavioural needs throughout the school day
• Providing calm, consistent responses to challenging behaviour
• Working 1:1 and in small groups
• Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times
• Encouraging positive routines and emotional regulation
This role is ideal for someone who:
• Has a Psychology degree or related background
• Is interested in behaviour, SEMH or youth mental health
• Is resilient, calm and consistent
• Understands behaviour as a form of communication
