You will manage the client's commercial contracts, fostering a long-term partnership. The work will be diverse, including commercial contracts, technology and outsourcing agreements, third-party supplier arrangements, and other operational contracts. The role involves supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals, working directly with business partners, and contributing to service development.
The client has established a dedicated legal team that works alongside their in-house legal function. This position is ideal for experienced lawyers eager to join a team that acts as an extension of the client's legal department, with responsibilities including:
* Managing and supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals;
* Innovating legal service delivery models;
* Driving legal process efficiencies;
* Working closely with the client’s in-house legal team to deepen understanding and collaboration.
We seek a senior lawyer with supervisory experience and expertise in general commercial contracts, media, technology/outsourcing, and intellectual property. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading UK team and a dynamic client, offering excellent training and career development.
Responsibilities
You will lead a team in delivering comprehensive commercial contract services, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts. Embracing technological solutions, you will support your team in taking ownership of contracts and maintaining high-quality service.
You will collaborate with the in-house legal team and other stakeholders, ensuring strong client relationships and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build a close working relationship with the client;
* Allocate legal work to team members;
* Manage team capacity, quality, and availability;
* Set and monitor team objectives;
* Contribute to financial and operational reports;
* Coordinate work allocation with the client and internal teams;
* Participate in client and internal meetings;
* Support quoting processes for legal work;
* Train new team members;
* Help develop precedents and playbooks;
* Support process improvement initiatives;
* Advise on commercial contracts and legal queries.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Experience working on media contracts;
* Management experience and ability to oversee team workload;
* Technology awareness;
* Experience with sophisticated clients is desirable;
* Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
