We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team on a 6-month contract, working from our clients Denton, Manchester office with hybrid working available (3 days in the office, 2 days WFH). The role primarily involves supporting the team with the preparation and submission of periodic payment applications, ensuring they are accurate and submitted on time according to the application timetable. This includes reviewing all supporting evidence, creating and verifying hyperlinks, and checking attachments prior to submission.
Additional responsibilities include performing periodic reconciliations, reducing Work in Progress (WIP), and converting it into 'applied for' status via payment applications. The role also involves assisting with raising Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and pricing compensation events using CEMAR software. You will support various ad-hoc commercial tasks such as procurement, producing contract documentation, liaising with subcontractors, and raising purchase orders and material requisitions.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, with an early start between 08:00 and 08:30. The position offers a PAYE rate. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong commercial awareness, excellent attention to detail, and proficient Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. Training on payment applications will be provided.
