Job description

Leading cost and project management consultancy in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Commercial Manager with expertise in Procurement and Post Contract Administration to join their dynamic team. The role will encompass activities within highly regulated industries including Airport, Energy, Rail, Highways, Nuclear, and Transmission & Distribution sectors. This is a permanent position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to key infrastructure projects that shape our economy and planet.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading and executing procurement related activities initially, transitioning into post contract administration
2. Working with NEC and FIDIC contracts for effective contract management
3. Collaborating within multi-sector teams to support procurement and post contract activities
4. Engaging with stakeholders to understand key objectives, risks, and opportunities
5. Recommending delivery models, commercial, and contracting strategies aligning with client goals
6. Performing market analysis to identify trends, appetite, opportunities, and risks
7. Sharing best practice and feeding insights into the client organisation
8. Providing mentorship and leadership to junior colleagues

Job Requirements:

9. Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
10. MRICS, MCIPS, or equivalent chartered status
11. Experience in leading multiple procurements of complex construction and infrastructure projects
12. Confidence in managing multiple projects and delivering excellent outcomes
13. Experience with standard form contracts, specifically FIDIC and NEC
14. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
15. Knowledge and experience in a consultancy setting
16. Ability to manage and delegate tasks, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion
17. Client-focused, with a dedication to building and maintaining relationships
