About the role: Thera North are seeking enthusiastic support workers to join our inclusive team supporting adults with a learning disability. The role involves creating innovative ways to support individuals to achieve their goals and ambitions. The support provided will vary by person and may include helping with daily living skills, personal and emotional support, planning and managing home life, and supporting leisure, employment, interests, and travel. You may work with people in their own homes or out in the community. Thera North is led by people with a learning disability, and the organisation focuses on empowering people with a learning disability to live the lives they choose using a person-centred approach.
Responsibilities
Support workers will:
* Support adults with a learning disability in developing new skills and achieving personal goals.
* Provide personal and emotional support; assist with planning and managing home life.
* Support with leisure, employment, individual interests, and travel.
* Work in a way that is flexible to individual needs; role may involve lone working and community-based support.
You may be involved in supporting people in their own home or while out in the community.
Qualifications
* No previous experience or qualifications required as full training will be provided.
* Comfortable with lone working and supporting individuals with mental health needs.
* Compassionate, caring and confident with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Self-starter with a high level of motivation; excellent written and verbal communication; confident, articulate and professional.
* Keenness to learn in a fast-paced environment and creatively solve problems.
* Desire to embrace the company values and vision and have fun.
