Position Overview
This position will be responsible for working on a range of Onshore Wind, PV and BESS projects throughout the EIA, design and construction phases. WSP takes on the role as Owner’s Engineer / Technical Advisor on many renewable projects in the UK. The role includes design review and site supervision duties and involves carrying out the following tasks on site:
* Carry out construction phase inspections, including foundation pre‑pour inspections and post‑pour inspections.
* Assist with project administration tasks such as client meetings, progress reporting and technical queries.
* Review BoP contractor’s civil infrastructure designs (tracks, hardstands, foundations, control buildings, etc).
* Contribute to H&S management, including review of RAMS and other construction documents such as a Construction Environmental Management Plan or Traffic Management Plan.
* Manage construction project quality assurance and document control across multiple projects.
* Support the Project Managers on contract payments and variations.
Other day‑to‑day responsibilities
* Work with team members to develop 2D / 3D wind farm layouts using InfraWorks and AutoCAD.
* Assist with internal project management tasks such as forecasting, invoicing and resourcing.
* Develop proposals and bids for onshore wind projects and contribute to multi‑disciplinary proposals.
Qualifications
* Civil Engineering qualification.
* Chartered, or working towards chartered status with the ICE.
* Experience of design and construction in renewable projects.
* Basic understanding of GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD.
* Some combined site experience with knowledge of CDM Regulations, health and safety, general on‑site civil construction experience and reinforcement detailing and checking.
* SMSTS or NEC4 supervision accreditation preferred but not required.
* Willingness to travel all over the UK for site supervision duties.
