Civil Structural Engineer (Reinforced Concrete / Temporary Works)

We are looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing team supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C—one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nuclear‑grade reinforced concrete structures, gaining exposure to advanced construction methods including 3D BIM rebar modelling (TEKLA), within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in supporting site‑based design and construction activities, including:
* Modifying reinforced concrete and steel designs in line with Eurocodes / ETCS-C
* Coordinating detailing with CAD and BIM teams (2D & 3D modelling)
* Managing engineering changes in line with QA procedures
Responding to
* Field Change Requests (FCRs)
* Field Information Requests (FIRs)
* Non‑Conformances (NCRs)
Liaising with
* Site construction teams
* Internal multidisciplinary teams
* Reviewing and approving contractor deliverables
* Conducting site walkdowns and inspections
Requirements
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Up to ~5 years' experience in Civil / Structural / Infrastructure Engineering
* Experience with reinforced concrete design
* Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
Experience in
* Temporary Works or Method Engineering
* Highly regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, rail, heavy infrastructure)
* Design‑to‑construction transition
* Working alongside contractors on site
* Exposure to BIM / TEKLA modelling
