If you’re an experienced Estimator who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being part of a close-knit team, this role is worth a serious look.
You’ll be joining a long-established main contractor with more than 50 years of steady trading, a loyal client base, and a reputation for delivering quality work across the Home Counties.
This is an office-based position (with site visits when needed) where you’ll take ownership of pricing new build and refurbishment schemes typically ranging from £250k to £5m, with the occasional small civils or groundworks element.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
*
Preparing accurate, competitive tenders across a range of sectors
*
Managing the full tender process: take-offs, enquiries, subcontractor pricing, supplier comparisons, and final submissions
*
Working closely with the commercial team and wider business to secure work
*
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
*
Primarily office-based estimating, with site visits as required
*
Joining a small, established estimating team (currently two estimators)
ABOUT YOU
*
Must have 5+ years’ experience as a Construction Estimator (ideally with a main contractor)
*
Confident pricing projects between £250k and £5m
*
Must have experience in new build or refurbishment (both is ideal)
*
Strong IT and Excel skills, solid tender administration, and good commercial judgement
*
Clear communicator, analytical thinker, and a team player
ADVANTAGEOUS
*
Experience using Causeway estimating software
*
Exposure to groundworks / civils packages
*
Within a commutable distance of Bedford
SALARY AND BENEFITS
* £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary depending upon experience
