We are seeking an ambitious, forward-thinking Software Engineer to join our UK-based IT team. This role involves developing innovative solutions across our software products throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, from inception to delivery. It offers an opportunity to explore full-stack technologies and contribute to business-critical applications for our customers and internal users.
As part of a dynamic software development department within a successful rental company, you will help deliver capabilities to the European business as part of a global IT team. Responsibilities
* Understand the existing application landscape in Europe.
* Collaborate with technical and business colleagues for requirements gathering, development, and testing.
* Maintain operational processes and applications; resolve production issues promptly with support teams.
* Focus on deadlines and delivery.
* Identify and implement automation or streamlining opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
* Create and maintain documentation for applications.
* Incorporate security and compliance in all decisions and daily tasks, following policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of .NET / SQL web applications and web services.
* Experience with tools such as TFS, Visual Studio, Azure, and SQL Server.
* Proficiency in C# .NET, XML, RESTful services, JSON, React, Material-UI, Entity Framework, Visual Studio Code, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
* Azure experience is advantageous.
* Desirable: Exposure to QA practices like unit testing, peer testing, defect tracking, and resolution.
* Desirable: Experience working in an Agile environment.
* Minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a IT Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Details
* Hours: 40 per week.
* Salary: Competitive.
* Location: This is a permanent role based in Egham, Surrey, with remote working options. Travel to the Egham office approximately once a quarter at own expense may be required.
