Fresh People are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a highly successful and growing fresh produce business based in Maidstone in Kent.
This business has experienced significant growth over the past four years and is now a recognised market leader in sourcing, production and distribution of fresh produce to major UK retailers. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a commercially driven individual to take ownership of key customer accounts and drive strategic growth.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial management and strategic development of key retail accounts, driving sales, volume and margin growth through strong category management, collaborative planning and cross-functional coordination.
This role would suit someone currently operating as a Commercial Executive, Junior Commercial Manager or Account Manager within fresh produce or FMCG, looking to take the next step in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and strategically grow key customer accounts
* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with customer objectives
* Deliver data-led insights through analysis of market trends, competitor activity and product performance
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with commercial, supply chain and technical teams
* Drive product development initiatives with creative and technical input
* Ensure promotional plans are effectively executed to maximise sales
* Identify supply chain efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
* Provide accurate sales forecasting and margin reporting
* Lead customer review meetings and manage follow-up actions
* Maintain strong administrative, commercial and financial controls
About You
* Experience xxuwjjq in account management, category management or commercial roles within fresh produce or FMCG
* Commercially astute with strong analytical and forecasting skills
* Confident working with large data sets and producing financial reports
* Highly organised with strong project management capability
* Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working cross-functionally
* Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
