Position: Procurement Manager
Responsible for procurement activities, both direct and indirect. Lead the process of finding, evaluating, and managing incumbent suppliers, their products, and services. Manage a team of buyers to create category strategies that redefine the supply chain, aiming for high performance and cost reduction opportunities.
Ensure all procurement activities align with group procurement processes and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a team of Buyers.
* Manage procurement for local suppliers, including negotiations, sourcing, compliance, and onboarding.
* Create and implement procurement strategies for high-risk categories.
* Support buyers in strategy development and implementation.
* Identify and deliver annual savings to meet targets.
* Improve cash conversion through better supplier payment terms.
* De-risk supply chain and ensure continuity via supplier contracts.
* Collaborate with group procurement on policies, compliance, and processes.
* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders such as R&D, Product Management, Quality, and CI.
* Manage procurement-led cost-saving projects.
* Build and maintain supplier relationships (SRM).
* Produce reports on spend, savings, KPI performance, etc.
* Manage supplier performance against KPIs.
* Support the P2P process.
* Key stakeholders include Group Procurement Director, Head of Procurement, Operations Director, SMT, R&D, CI, Warehouse Manager, Production Manager, Quality, Finance, Suppliers.
Required Capabilities:
* Experience in Strategic Procurement, leadership preferred.
* Strong negotiation skills for supplier contracts.
* Experience in creating and implementing category plans.
* Influencing skills.
* Membership of CIPS or equivalent.
* Knowledge of industry standards like ISO.
* Strategic thinking and drive to succeed.
* Proficiency in Excel and Word; familiarity with IFS is a plus.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Motivated and able to work independently.
