Your new role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Reporting function and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information. This is a broad and engaging position offering strong exposure across management accounts, reporting, and core finance operations. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end management accounts and PLC reporting within tight deadlines
2. Preparing cash flow forecasts
3. Assisting with revenue reconciliation
4. Managing sales ledger tasks, including invoicing, credit control and aged debtor reporting
5. Preparing payment runs and uploading transactions to banking platforms
6. Posting prepayment and accrual journals
7. Processing purchase ledger invoices with accuracy and ensuring correct approval
8. Preparing and posting payroll journals
9. Producingmission and expense calculations
10. Updating and reconciling the fixed asset register
11. Assisting with tax and audit pack preparation
12. VAT reconciliation and preparation
13. Scheduling supplier payments and setting up customer Direct Debits
14. Ordering office supplies and supporting ad hoc finance activities as required
This is a varied and hands‑on role well suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working autonomously.
What you'll need to succeed
15. AAT qualified or part‑qualified ACCA (or equivalent)
16. Strong IT skills; advanced Excel experience desirable
17. Experience using Xero beneficial
18. Experience of PLC reporting advantageous
19. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
20. Strong organisational and time‑management skills
21. Ability to work independently and managepeting deadlines
