We are seeking a skilled and versatile IT Support Specialist to join our team, providing essential technical support across our complex site. This role is a critical blend of 1st-line desktop support and 2nd-line server and infrastructure administration, ensuring the reliable operation of all Information Technology (IT) systems within our manufacturing and corporate environments. The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem-solver, adept at working within regulated industries and maintaining compliance with standards like Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good 'X' Practice (GxP). You will be responsible for installing, configuring, diagnosing, and maintaining hardware, software, and network infrastructure, providing support both remotely and in person. You will also play a role in supporting the site's ongoing digitalisation efforts and assisting with project implementation. Closing date for applications is Friday 28th November 2025. Requirements Key Responsibilities: End-User and Desktop Support (1st Line Focus) Provide initial point-of-contact support for all IT issues via ticketing system, phone, and in-person requests. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems (with a focus on Windows 11), and standard business applications, including the Microsoft 365 suite. Manage mobile devices using Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, specifically within the Azure/Intune environment. Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network connectivity faults, escalating to third parties or higher-level support as necessary. Manage user accounts, profiles, permissions, and password resets, ensuring rapid and secure access for all employees. Server and Infrastructure Support (2nd Line Focus) Assist with the monitoring, maintenance, and administration of server environments, focusing on Windows Server 2019 and newer versions. Provide fundamental support for virtualized environments, including monitoring and routine maintenance tasks. Perform scheduled maintenance, system upgrades, and routine server health checks to ensure stability and adherence to corporate policies. Manage and troubleshoot core network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory) as directed by senior infrastructure staff. Ensure that system hardware, operating and software systems, and related procedures adhere to both corporate IT standards and regulatory requirements (GMP/GxP). Operational, Digitalisation & Project Support Prioritise and manage multiple open cases concurrently, working continuously on tasks until completion or appropriate referral. Respond to trouble tickets and callouts within agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) time limits. Maintain accurate records of all IT hardware and software assets (Asset Management) throughout their lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, disposal, and inventory verification. Act as a technical resource or task owner on assigned IT projects, supporting implementation, testing, and deployment of new systems and infrastructure across the site. Actively support the implementation and adoption of new Digital solutions and technologies across the site, contributing to the broader digitalisation strategy by ensuring new tools integrate seamlessly. Collaborate with local users, project teams, and site management to support the implementation of local and global IT projects efficiently and in alignment with all relevant policies and procedures. Active encouragement and opportunities to develop skillsets across advanced technologies, including cloud services, networking, and security, are available within the team. Required Experience Proven experience in a mixed 1st and 2nd Line IT support role. Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills across desktop and server operating systems, specifically: Windows 11 Windows Server 2019 or newer Experience supporting users with the Microsoft 365 suite (e.g., Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams). Practical experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM), ideally using Azure Active Directory/Intune. Demonstrable knowledge of server virtualization platforms, including basic administration or troubleshooting of VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix Hypervisor (or equivalent). Experience working within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industry is highly desirable.
