Job Description
We are working exclusively with a modern, well-equipped practice in Reading that is looking for a Clinical Director who can lead both clinically and culturally. This is not a corporate environment; it's an independent group that genuinely cares about how pets and clients are treated. They want someone who can raise standards, bring structure, and inspire a young team — not just maintain the status quo.
The outgoing CD is returning to out-of-hours work, so the role is available due to preference, not performance. The team is stable, and the practice has excellent foundations. What they need now is strength, experience, and vision.
What makes this practice different?
The owners are passionate about calm, stress-free visits, genuine empathy, and clinical excellence. They are outspoken about not wanting to be “just another practice down the road.”
You'll join a team who are kind to their patients, kind to each other, and genuinely like having fun at work.
You'll have full autonomy to shape:
* Clinical standards
* Team development
* Surgical caseload growth
* Client experience and culture
Current Team:
4 Vets | 5 Nurses | 1 VCA | ~4,000 active clients
This is a practice with theatre capacity and patient demand — it just needs leadership to activate it.
