Responsibilities
* Facilitate two Professional Development Groups (PDGs) for Year 4 students at the University of Plymouth, alternating sessions in Plymouth and other sites as needed.
* Provide paid administrative support for each session, including planning, assessment, and documentation.
* Act as an academic tutor for up to five individual students, offering guidance and support on a remunerated basis.
* Support the development and delivery of small‑group teaching sessions, ensuring a reflective practice and professionalism focus.
Schedule and Location
• The role is based in Plymouth, with small group sessions scheduled on Fridays from 3 pm to 5 pm in the John Bull Building near Derriford Hospital (20 sessions in total, 10 per group, alternating).
• Candidates who are unavailable on Fridays in Plymouth may still be considered for alternative days or sites; please indicate your availability in your application.
Qualifications
* Medically qualified and GMC registered.
* Currently or recently (within the last 4 years) practising in the South West locality.
* Strong interest in medical education and teaching experience.
* Previous experience of small‑group facilitation desirable.
Employment Details
• Initial appointment for one year, with the possibility of review for continued small‑group medical education depending on curriculum needs.
• This is a remunerated position, including paid administrative time.
• Working from home is not accommodated.
