Senior Consultant - Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security
Location: UK-wide (Remote/Hybrid with some travel)
Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Sector: Industrial / Critical Infrastructure / Cyber Security
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000
Are you a cyber security expert with hands-on experience protecting industrial systems? We're working with a fast-growing UK-based consultancy that is delivering major security programmes for organisations operating in high-risk, high-impact sectors - including energy, utilities, and manufacturing.
They're now looking to expand their specialist team with a Senior OT Cyber Security Consultant, someone who understands how industrial systems work - and more importantly, how to secure them.
🛠️ Your Role
This is a client-facing consulting position focused on safeguarding operational environments - think control systems, remote access, and critical automation. You’ll work across a variety of industries to design, advise, and deliver real-world cyber solutions for operational networks.
Day-to-day, you could be:
Carrying out risk assessments on OT environments (e.g., SCADA, PLCs, DCS)
Helping clients build or improve their cyber security strategies and operating models
Designing network architecture and remote access controls suited to legacy systems
Guiding clients through frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, CAF, ISO 27001
Writing and reviewing technical policies, standards, and procedures
Translating complex technical challenges into clear, actionable plans
Supporting the delivery of wider cyber transformation programmes
You'll work with organisations where uptime, safety, and resilience are critical - so your work will have direct operational impact.
🔍 What We're Looking For
We’re after someone who blends technical expertise with strong communication and consulting skills. You don’t need to be from a pure consultancy background, but you must be confident engaging with stakeholders and delivering structured solutions.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
A solid background in cyber security, with a focus on OT environments
Familiarity with industrial systems like PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, etc.
Awareness of the cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks in industrial sectors
Experience designing or assessing network architectures and access control for OT
Working knowledge of security standards (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001, CAF, etc.)
Strong documentation and reporting skills - policies, assessments, risk analysis
Experience working in (or with) sectors like energy, transport, water, or manufacturing
Experience with governance, compliance and risk within cyber security.
Bonus if you’ve worked on security transformation projects or helped organisations move from low to high cyber maturity.
🌍 Why Join?
Work on high-impact projects across critical sectors
Be part of a growing team of OT specialists, backed by a wider cyber consultancy
Opportunities to shape client strategy and lead technical delivery
Flexible working model – mostly remote with client site visits as required
Competitive salary, strong benefits package, and long-term career growth
