Overview
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organisation’s procurement activities, ensuring the efficient sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of goods and services. This role focuses on achieving best value, maintaining supplier relationships, and upholding compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. The successful candidate will support business objectives through effective procurement strategies. The Procurement Team at HTB ensures third party partners are the right partners, providing the right service at the right price in a regulated environment. The function operates within the Finance team and collaborates with all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* IT Procurement: source and manage IT procurement (hardware, software, and services); evaluate emerging technologies, understand market trends, and implement cost-effective solutions aligned with organisational objectives.
* Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS): negotiate contracts, ensure robust SLAs, and oversee renewals of cloud-based services to meet business requirements.
* General Indirect Procurement – Professional Services: develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and achieve value for money across indirect categories (consultancy, legal, HR, marketing).
* Contract Negotiation, Legal Clauses and Commercials: negotiate complex contracts, draft/review commercial terms and legal clauses; assess risk, compliance, and mitigation strategies.
* Stakeholder Management: build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; communicate clearly, influence decisions, and collaborate across departments to drive procurement initiatives.
* Senior stakeholder engagement: manage relationships with senior leadership, present business cases, and influence strategic decisions.
* Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): implement SRM strategies, segment suppliers, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
* Regulatory Competence: ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., SySC8, PRA 22/1, PRA 22/2, GDPR, Consumer Duty Act) and uphold governance standards.
Required Skills & Experience
* Procurement experience within a Financial Services environment.
* Strong IT procurement experience, including SaaS and PaaS.
* Proven experience negotiating complex contracts.
* Exceptional stakeholder management abilities across internal and external groups.
* Track record implementing effective supplier relationship management strategies.
