We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional to take a leading role in delivering a wide range of infrastructure, residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects across the South West.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will join a highly regarded technical team and will be responsible for managing ground investigations, producing detailed geotechnical assessments, mentoring junior engineers, and developing strong client relationships. You will play a key role in project delivery from tender stage through to design recommendations and reporting.
The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will:
* Have a degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
* Have several years of UK geotechnical consultancy experience
* Be experienced in managing and interpreting ground investigations
* Have strong knowledge of geotechnical design and reporting
* Be confident liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Ideally be working towards or already hold Chartered status
Key responsibilities:
* Managing site investigations and supervising fieldwork
* Producing geotechnical interpretative reports and foundation recommendations
* Slope stability and earthworks assessments
* Mentoring graduate and junior engineersSupporting business development and client management
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
