HGV Workshop Technician We are Mantra Learning, the UK’s leading Logistics learning and development organisation. Mantra has supported the skills needs of the logistics sector for over 54 years and is an Ofsted rated grade 2 independent training provider. The Manchester site is well established as the largest specialist logistics training facility in the UK. Our organisation provides training for people at all levels from supporting individuals to gain work to developing senior managers. We work with some of the biggest brands in the country, including Aldi, Wincanton and AO, delivering approximately 400 Apprenticeships, over 2500 Large Goods Vehicle licences and 1,100 Forklift Truck licences each year. Role Overview Your primary focus will be to assist with the practical delivery and development of the automotive light and heavy apprenticeships, within our two automotive workshops, whilst maintaining a safe working environment. Duties & Responsibilities To facilitate practical training and guidance to Level 2 and Level 3 light vehicle and heavy vehicle apprentices to embed theory and develop practical skills. To setup and assist with the Apprentices mock and final ‘End Point Assessments’(EPA). To maintain the workshop facilities and equipment in line with insurance inspection schedules. Develop new practical resources in line with the requirements of the courses Maintain the fleet of onsite vehicles carrying out minor repairs and fault finding. Liaising with outside repair contractors when vehicles need to leave site for scheduled maintenance or repair. Assist with study programme learners who wish to become apprentices, to develop basic vehicle inspection knowledge and understanding of the automotive industry. Attend meetings and training sessions to develop relevant knowledge and skills to perform duties and aid business and organisational development. Achieve key performance targets. Develop excellent communication links with other inter-related departments. To promote all Mantra Learning Ltd products. You will be expected to contribute to continuous improvement within the department and your team. Undertake any reasonable request made by senior management. Working flexible hours to meet the needs of the department as agreed with the Automotive Delivery Manager. Qualifications Full driving license is essential. Intermediate IT skills using Microsoft Office packages. Educated to NVQ level 2 or 3 equivalent (Essential) Math and English level 2 or equivalent (Desirable) Experience – Essential Training/Coaching Experience Experience of Automotive Industry Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels Able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated Role Details The hours for this role are flexible, we are open to recruiting for this position on a part time or fulltime basis.
