Role: To grow the sales and margins of the food category in the UK retail business through the development and implementation of effective strategic and operational plans for Starbucks food, including the development of brand consistent, consumer-led, innovative product ranges and display. This role is based in Chiswick with travel within market (visit suppliers / stores) frequently required. Requirements: - Support with setting the strategic direction for food in the UK in-line with regional Brand Guidelines, while creates the annual operating plan for the food category. - Management of the in-year plan, continuously assessing and monitoring the performance of food categories. - Monitor market and consumer trends and insights, and act on these insights with suppliers to create products that place Starbucks in a place to exploit the emerging trends. - Leads suppliers in the development of innovative new products and packaging from concept through implementation to ensure they meet the needs of the market and consumer. - Ensure Starbucks has the right equipment in store to allow the delivery of high-quality food products in line with speed of service requirements, while working with store development to ensure Swe don't stand still in food equipment used. - Define and execute implementation plans for product and new initiative rollouts, while creating content and tools for communication to stores for day-to-day management of food. - Work alongside procurement team to ensure that supplier base is reviewed for both cost and quality on a regular basis. The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same Working as our Food Manager, we'll look to you to bring the following: - Category management experience with a key understanding of how to access category growth levers. - Experience in leading category strategy, operational business plans, trend understanding and interpretation. - Track record in delivering positive top and bottom-line growth to categories. - Experience of leading product development projects from inspiration to completion in a branded business. - Experience of developing food or beverage offering which meets consumer needs and matches brand values. - Commercial sales analysis with excellent written and verbal communication. - Management of external supplier base and influencing NPD development. - Well-developed strategic and operational capabilities, including people management skills. - Project management, commercial acumen, and proven category management skills.
