Literacy and numeracy accelerant kaiako and junior social studies

Full time, Permanent

Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacher

Haeata Community Campus is an urban Area School based in the east of Christchurch. We have an exciting opportunity available for a literacy and numeracy specialist to deliver our accelerator programme for Y9–11. The ideal candidate will be culturally aware and enjoy the challenge of working within a modern learning environment. The candidate will have had experience in delivering accelerant programmes in literacy and numeracy with a proven track record. This individual will work alongside our kaiako in Y9–13 and in our intermediate area to ensure our ākonga are provided with everything necessary to be successful.


Responsibilities

* Deliver the accelerator programme for literacy and numeracy for Y9–11
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Plan and deliver integrated learning for Y9–10
* Provide extracurricular opportunities for ākonga
* Support in the role of Puna Ako kaiako with strong pastoral involvement
* Demonstrate sound communication skills to support ākonga, whānau and kaimahi


Qualifications

* Experience delivering accelerant programmes in literacy and numeracy with a proven track record
* Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Ability and confidence teaching Y9–13
* Experience with planning and delivering integrated learning for Y9–10
* A commitment to providing extracurricular opportunities for ākonga
* Sound organisational skills and be detail-oriented
* Strong pastoral skills to support in the role of Puna Ako kaiako
* Sound communication skills to support ākonga, whānau and kaimahi
* Willingness to exemplify the school’s values of Hanga Whare, Alofa, Manaakitanga, Service and Success
