Our client is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to manage daily payroll operations, ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, and contractual obligations, and that payments are processed accurately and timely each month.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payments, timely payslips, statutory returns, and reports.
* Serving as a point of escalation for internal and external payroll queries.
* Managing workload distribution among Payroll & Pensions Officers, covering during absences, and supporting peak periods.
* Administering multiple pension schemes, ensuring proper reporting and prompt handling of queries.
* Maintaining compliance with pension and statutory requirements, including monthly pension returns and auto-enrolment.
* Processing monthly payroll and handling post-payroll reporting and ledger uploads.
* Reconciliations of month-end payments and returns (HMRC, pension providers, etc.).
* Coordinating with auditors and providing necessary information.
* Staying updated with relevant regulations and sharing updates with the team.
* Collaborating with other operational teams to improve processes and service delivery.
* Assisting in payroll system improvements and efficiency initiatives.
* Acting as Deputy for the Payroll Manager when needed.
* Performing additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
