We are working in partnership with a school located in Barnsley, who are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate would be talented, creative, and enthusiastic about being a positive role model for students.
Teaching Assistants are given an opportunity to make a positive impact on students with autistic spectrum conditions and communication and interaction difficulties.
A successful candidate would:
* Have experience in an educational setting either in specialist provision for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
* A history of working with students with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum and complex needs.
* A confident, caring, and assertive personality
What to expect?
* Working in these settings requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as many of these students have difficult social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.
* Many of the students will have difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of Team Teach positive behaviour management strategies will need to be used often.
* Many of these children have low self-esteem and will require positive re enforcement from you when they display good behaviours.
