Join the frontline of Victoria North, Manchester’s most ambitious urban renewal project to date. We are seeking a dedicated External Works Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality residential environments in Collyhurst, where we are currently completing the first phases of 274 new homes and a brand-new community park.
This is a rare chance to shape a "New Town" within the city, managing the transition of brownfield land into vibrant, sustainable neighbourhoods.
Key Responsibilities
* Estate Transformation: Manage all external works.
* High-End Finishing: Oversee the installation of premium external finishes—from block-paved driveways and fencing to complex soft landscaping for the new.
* Subcontractor Leadership: Coordinate specialist teams in groundworks and landscaping to ensure strict adherence to the Victoria North masterplan.
* Health & Safety: Enforce rigorous safety standards on active residential sites, ensuring full compliance with RAMS and local authority requirements.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with the Manchester City Council and Far East Consortium (FEC) teams to ensure seamless project handovers.
What You’ll Need
* Sector Experience: Proven track record in large-scale residential development or major public realm projects.
* Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of S278/Highways works, drainage levels, and biodiversity-focused landscaping.
Core Qualifications
* SMSTS & CSCS Manager Card (Black or Gold) are essential.
* First Aid at Work.
* A background in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is highly desirable.
