Location: Bexley
Job Type: Full-time (term-time)

About Us
We are working in partnership with a specialist academy dedicated to supporting autistic children and young people (aged 4–19) — many with complex needs and all with an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan). Our school community is built on the values of trust, honesty, respect and kindness, providing a calm, welcoming and purposeful environment where pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN TA working with us, you will:
* Provide one-to-one or small-group support to autistic learners with EHCPs, including children at early developmental stages.
* Help pupils access and engage with the curriculum — supporting communication, reading, writing, numeracy, social and independent-living skills.
* Create a calm, supportive, inclusive and safe learning environment, helping pupils build confidence, independence and resilience.
* Support and adapt learning resources, collaborate with teachers to deliver personalised learning plans, and monitor and record pupil progress.
* Work closely with teaching staff, school leadership, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
We’re Looking For Applicants Who Are:
* Patient, empathetic, respectful and compassionate — able to build positive relationships with children, young people, parents and staff.
* Skilled at working with children and young people with special educational needs — ideally with experience in supporting autistic learners or in similar SEN environments.
* Flexible, creative and adaptable, able to tailor support to individual needs and varying developmental levels.
* Committed to inclusion, equality, respect and kindness.
* Able to maintain a calm, encouraging environment even under challenging behaviour or complex needs.
Why Work With Us?
* Opportunity to make a real, long-term difference in children’s lives.
* Work within a values-driven, inclusive and supportive school community.
* Be part of a collaborative team working in partnership with parents/carers, professionals and other schools.
* Rewarding role helping children achieve independence, confidence, academic success and prepare for their future.
