The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for providing vision, strategic leadership, and management of key functions across Global Supply, including Program Management, Quality & Compliance, and Lean, to ensure excellence in delivering strategic objectives and initiatives.
The role involves developing and executing supply chain projects, ensuring smooth integration of new product introductions (NPI) into manufacturing, and managing capability and capacity across the organization. The Head will oversee the Global Excellence in Operations budget and lead strategic global supply projects, including mergers & acquisitions and new greenfield sites.
This leader must operate strategically across multifunctional areas and geographic locations, working closely with the Operations & Supply Director. Key duties include reviewing operations strategy and budgets, implementing production systems and improvement initiatives (such as benchmarking, automation, lean), and monitoring their execution.
Responsibilities also encompass identifying opportunities for operational improvements using tools like lean, six sigma, and value stream mapping; standardizing processes; making strategic operational decisions regarding capital investments, outsourcing, and hiring.
Additional key accountabilities include:
1. Leading and managing significant supply projects, ensuring timely, within scope, and within budget completion; coordinating cross-functional impacts; ensuring successful change management.
2. Partnering with the Strategic Business Development team to facilitate smooth landing of NPI projects, aligning goals and timelines, and monitoring progress.
3. Managing capability and capacity planning across WMFTS and Spirax, addressing bottlenecks, and enhancing supply chain resilience and efficiency.
4. Conducting regular Kaizen events, implementing visual management tools, and delivering the Continuous Improvement roadmap within budget.
Qualifications and experience required include:
* Proven success in driving business and supply chain excellence in complex manufacturing environments.
* Skills in quality & compliance, supply chain strategy, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
* Strong project and change management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects.
* Experience working within group functions across various geographies and levels.
* Ability to simplify complex subjects or data to increase effectiveness.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* University degree in engineering or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
* Ability to travel internationally.
