Job Description
Dartford, Kent + International Travel
£35,000 – £40,000 DOE + Overtime (1.5x)
35 hours per week | Monday – Friday
Why This Role Stands Out
If you're a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, travel, and working with high-quality machinery, this role offers something different from the typical service position.
You’ll split your time between our Dartford site and travelling globally to support well-known brands, installing and maintaining bespoke packaging machinery. With fully paid international travel, no night call-outs, and structured overtime, this role offers both balance and opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Installing and commissioning bespoke packaging machinery worldwide
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding (mechanical & electrical)
* Supporting customers on-site with technical issues and troubleshooting
* Conducting machine surveys and preventative maintenance
* Training customer staff on machine operation and best practices
* Building strong relationships with customers as a key technical contact
* Supporting the Dartford site with workshop-based engineering when not travelling
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a Field Service or maintenance engineering role
* Strong electro-mechanical skills, with a mechanical bias
* Confident fault-finding and problem-solving ability
* Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment
* Flexible approach to travel and working hours
* Full UK driving licence
This role suits someone who enjoys a mix of independence, travel, and hands-on engineering, and who can adapt to a reactive environment when needed.
What You’ll Get in Return
* £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary (DOE)
* Overtime paid at 1.5x (including weekends)
* All international travel fully expensed
* Company vehicle (car or van)
* Fuel covered + company debit card & hotel card
* No night call-outs
* 35-hour working week
* Full training on specialist machinery
* Opportunity to develop skills working with advanced, bespoke equipment
* Exposure to international projects and global clients
The Reality of the Role
This is a varied and sometimes reactive position. Plans can change, and customer needs can arise at short notice. In return, you’ll gain experience that few engineering roles can offer — working across different countries, industries, and technologies.
