👁️ The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and retail aspects of the practice, ensuring every patient receives a warm, professional, and tailored experience.

🔍 Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service
* Supporting the Optometrist during clinics
* Dispensing spectacles and advising on frames, lenses, and coatings
* Taking accurate measurements (e.g. PDs, heights)
* Pre-screening patients (OCT, fields, autorefractor, etc.)
* Managing appointments and diary coordination
* Handling queries in person and over the phone
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional practice environment

✅ Requirements
* Previous experience as an Optical Assistant is essential
* Must have experience working in an independent opticians
* Strong dispensing and product knowledge
* Confident communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient-first approach with attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
* Passion for delivering high-quality, personalised care
