We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Trust Automation team. At Trustpilot, "Trust" is the heart of the company, and this department is the front line in keeping our platform safe and reliable for millions of users. This isn't a "sheltered" role where you just pick up tickets in isolation. You will join a high-impact, autonomous squad that bridges the gap between engineering and data science, working directly with stakeholders in Legal and Content Integrity to shape how we detect and filter fake reviews and harmful content at scale. The Team: Trust - Automation The Automation team is a lean, interactive unit focused on the automated monitoring and enforcement of platform standards. We manage LLMs, bespoke internal systems, and third-party integrations to support real-time content scanning and continue to build moderation capabilities in-house. We also leverage AI-assisted coding and Agentic tooling and workflows to speed up our processes, development cycles, and stay informed with changing trends and data. What you'll be doing: Full Ownership: Take part in the entire lifecycle of our services, from ideation and technical strategy to deployment and maintenance. Manage Complex Integrations: Oversee and optimise our mission-critical integration with CheckStep. In-House Innovation: Help execute the transition from third-party tools to bespoke, in-house AI-driven services. Stakeholder Collaboration: Actively participate in "free-for-all" project discussions with Legal and Content Integrity agents, challenging requirements when necessary to find the best technical solutions. Data-Driven Execution: Use our "mountains of data" to drive experiments and break down high-level strategy into actionable technical timelines. Who you are: Technical Experience: You have at least 3 years of experience in full-stack web development, ideally in large-scale, high-pressure environments Operational Maturity: You have experience in productionising, scaling, and maintaining large-scale systems, including automated monitoring and alerting, and Incident Management. Cloud Native: You possess strong, hands-on experience with AWS (SQS, Lambda, queuing, and observability). Backend Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript. AI Enthusiast: You are passionate about the AI space—whether through commercial work or personal "vibe coding" projects with LLMs and Agentic Engineering. Critical Thinker: You are vocal, confident in representing technical decisions, and comfortable discussing trade-offs with non-technical teams. Autonomy: You prefer to work with guidance rather than micromanagement, taking ownership of your tasks from start to finish. Tech Stack we use: Infrastructure: AWS (ECS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, CloudFormation), Docker. Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js. Frontend: React, Next.js (Experience with React is a major plus!). Database: DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, BigQuery. AI/Integrations: LLMs, CheckStep, Agentics.
