As part of their continued growth and strategic development, they are now seeking a Wholesale Manager to join their team based in Prescot.
The Role
As Wholesale Manager, you will be responsible for driving performance across both the sales and procurement functions of the wholesale division. This is a key role with a focus on managing supplier and customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring a reliable supply of fresh produce to wholesale markets across the UK.
You’ll be joining a fast-paced, forward-thinking company at a time of exciting expansion, with the opportunity to significantly contribute to its ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow relationships with key wholesale customers, delivering outstanding service and support
* Source and negotiate with growers and suppliers to maintain consistent supply of top-quality produce
* Track market trends and competitor activity to identify new commercial opportunities
* Lead and support a small but effective team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
* Manage budgeting, forecasting, and profitability against agreed KPIs
* Ensure all operations comply with industry standards and company quality policies
About You
You are a commercially focused wholesale individual with a strong background ideally in the fresh produce, food, or FMCG sectors. You understand the fast-moving nature of wholesale markets and have a proven track record of managing supply chains, building customer relationships, and driving profitable growth.
Key Skills and Experience
* Experience in wholesale sales and/or procurement role within fresh produce or related sectors
* Strong negotiation and commercial skills with a strategic mindset
* Excellent team leadership and communication abilities
* A good understanding of UK wholesale and retail produce markets
* Results-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in identifying solutions
* Passion for the fresh produce industry and commitment to quality
