Job Title: Sports Coach / Learning Support
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day

GSL Education is seeking motivated individuals with a sports or coaching background to work in secondary schools across Worksop. This is a school-based support role where you will be working in classrooms, supporting students’ learning, managing behaviour and supervising lessons — not delivering sports sessions.
This opportunity is well suited to those looking to move into education, using their coaching experience to positively influence students within a structured school environment.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support, you will support teaching staff across a range of subjects, helping students stay focused and engaged in lessons. You may be required to provide classroom support, assist with behaviour management, deliver small group interventions or cover lessons in the absence of a teacher. Your sports background will be valuable in building rapport, maintaining structure and encouraging participation, but your main duties will be centred around learning support.
Responsibilities:
* Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
* Supervise classes during teacher absence as a cover supervisor
* Provide targeted support to students, including those with SEN
* Use coaching skills to promote positive behaviour and engagement
* Help maintain a calm, structured and purposeful learning environment
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff
Requirements:
* Background in sports coaching, fitness, or working with young people
* Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach
* Genuine interest in supporting students in education
