About the team we are recruiting to
We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, accepting of all, and free from discrimination and bias. Customer Services is one of the largest departments in Coventry City Council and is the front face of the organisation. We are usually the first point of contact for customer enquiries across the council. Our fast-paced telephone teams handle thousands of calls and emails weekly. We have a dynamic Customer Service Centre with around 2,500 visitors weekly, seeking assistance on a wide range of issues from paying council tax to accessing services. We also have dedicated support teams processing bookings, timesheets, and administrative work for the entire organisation.
You may be based in several locations, including our main Customer Service Centre in the city, Friargate, and several reception points across Coventry. Joining Customer Services offers a great stepping stone into a long-term career with the Council. Depending on your role, you will learn about other parts of the organisation.
We aim for every customer to have a positive experience when approaching the council and would love you to be part of our team.
Coventry has a proud, innovative, and creative spirit, with a history of communities coming together to address challenges and foster social change. We are cutting-edge, youthful, vibrant, and diverse. Our commitment to excellence drives us to recruit and develop talented people who focus on our customers, take responsibility, work collaboratively, and seek continuous improvement. To deliver the best services to our residents, we need the best people. Join us, and we will offer a fantastic rewards and benefits package.
