Overview
Mental Health Clinical Lead at Gatwick IRC. Provide advanced clinical practice and leadership within the Integrated Healthcare Services team, supporting mental health services, assisting GPs, and working collaboratively with the Clinical Lead.
Location: Gatwick. Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:00 pm with shift patterns. Salary: £51,643–£58,012 per annum, depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
- Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and allied health professionals.
- Establish inter‑agency working to ensure good communication and increase quality of care for patients.
- Ensure own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
- Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental health policy, provide nursing triage, screening and assessment.
- Actively participate in the development of local operating procedures to keep pathways clear for clinicians.
- Ensure all complaints or concerns relating to mental health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Lead nursing treatment or care within mental health.
- Confirm waiting lists are well managed to ensure minimal waiting times for patients.
- Manage medicines and give advice including supporting medicine administration.

Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse – NMC.
- Experience providing supervision.
- Teaching or mentoring experience and/or qualification.
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development to maintain up‑to‑date knowledge and ongoing competence.
- Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is desirable but not essential.
