We are seeking dedicated SEND specialists to work with students across all ages who have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This role is perfect for those who value connection over curriculum and celebrate the unique progress of every learner.
Responsibilities
* Work 1:1 or in small groups to make learning accessible, using sensory play, visual timetables, and personalised communication tools.
* Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet each student’s sensory and cognitive needs.
* Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Makaton, or AAC devices.
* Act as a calm, consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies to support student wellbeing.
* Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to student development and safety.
* Assist with the student’s daily routine and support their overall progress.

Qualifications
* Exceptionally patient, with resilience to support students through challenging moments.
* Relevant experience in a school, care setting, personal experience, or volunteering with SEND charities.
* Team player, able to take direction from specialists while using initiative in daily support.
* Commitment to safeguarding and holding an enhanced DBS on the update service.
