ROLE OVERVIEW
The Localisation Editor ensures the accuracy, consistency, and readiness of assets for PPC's localisation production pipeline. This role focuses on validating asset set up, performing quality control, and managing metadata entries into PPC's internal systems to support smooth delivery into the production pipeline.
It is ideal for candidates with strong technical and post-production experience, who are comfortable working with automated workflows, and who have a keen eye for detail in subtitling, transcription, metadata management and technical QC.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Editing
* Validate timecodes (in/out) and ensure subtitle timing accuracy.
* Adjust subtitle formatting (line breaks, bold/italic).
* Delete unnecessary or duplicated entries.
* Ensure assets are conform-ready for broadcast/theatrical delivery. This includes both technical and content compliance in accordance with regional specifications and laws.
* Entry level compliance editing to support Online Editorial team.
* Entry level localisation conforming to support Online Editorial team.
Transcription
* Review and amend AI-generated transcripts.
* Correct spelling, mishears, and inconsistencies.
* Ensure transcripts match audio and adhere to subtitling best practices.
Metadata Entry
* Verify project folder names (spot name, trailer version, order name).
* Confirm and adjust aspect ratios for subtitle placement.
* Validate metadata markers for consistency and correct linking within PPC systems.
* Ensure audit trail is maintained for workflow transparency.
Quality Control
* Conduct manual QC of assets, including subtitles, graphics, and masters.
* Make manual tweaks and amends as required.
* Conduct internal two-step operator/producer review before client delivery.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Interest in media, post-production, or related fields
* Strong analytical and organizational skills, especially with filenames, timecodes, and metadata.
* Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication.
* Proficiency navigating both Mac and PC operating systems.
* Strong attention to detail for transcription, metadata management, and QC.
* Beginner to intermediate understanding of framerates, picture ratios, and image resolutions.
* Comfortable working with automation and AI-driven workflows.
* Collaborative team player, able to work closely with Producers, GFX, and Data I/O teams.
* Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve workflow issues.
* Experience in data management, subtitling, quality control, and text-safe specifications across multiple aspect ratios (16x9, 9x16, 4x5, 1x1).
