Overview
We are recruiting for a Graduate Cost Manager for our Oxfordshire Lexica team. Lexica is a leading specialist consultancy that transforms environments for clients in health and life sciences. From June 2025 Lexica will become a member of WSP (UK) Ltd and fully integrate into the organisation by January 2026. We help organisations become more efficient and effective in core sectors such as NHS patient pathways, laboratory design, and educational campus optimisation.
Responsibilities
As a Graduate Cost Manager you will support the delivery of projects across health and life sciences sectors and be part of a dynamic team delivering full cost management services from initial feasibility through to completion on complex refurbishments and new‑build schemes. Your work will include developing robust cost plans, supporting procurement and tendering, administering contracts, and ensuring strong cost control throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with NHS Trusts, science clients, and design teams.
Day‑to‑Day Activities
* Assist in managing costs through the entire project lifecycle.
* Prepare estimates, cost modules and cost plans.
* Prepare pricing schedules, tender and contract documentation.
* Conduct monthly payment assessments.
* Manage construction‑phase costs, attend site meetings, negotiate variations with contractors, and prepare monthly cost reports for the client.
* Prepare cost reports, present to stakeholders, and support business case preparation for public funding approval.
Graduate Development Programme

Qualifications
* Graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
* Completed the application form and passed the online skill enabler assessment.
* Available to start work in January 2026.
* Desire to develop a career and become chartered.
* Understanding of project controls and financial management, maintaining accurate reporting across all project stages and ensuring compliance with client funding requirements and audit standards.
* Commercial awareness, logical thinking, efficient and accurate work habits.
* Enthusiasm for creativity and problem‑solving.
* Ability to inspire and share new ideas.
