JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Engineer ensures the safe and reliable operation of buildings, plant, equipment, and facilities that support core business activities. This includes diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, and complying with health and safety regulations. The role also involves supporting engineering projects, collaborating with the team to improve efficiency and reduce costs, managing contractors, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Flexibility in duties and working hours is essential, along with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and mechanical issues.
* Deliver the preventive maintenance schedule to minimize machine downtime.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Collaborate with the team on Lean projects and operational improvements.
* Escalate operational issues promptly to the Team Leader or relevant stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and escalate concerns when necessary.
* Engage with vendors and contractors to guarantee high standards of workmanship, safety, and cost control.
* Participate in training to maintain and develop technical knowledge and compliance awareness.
PERSONAL PROFILE
* Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Qualification (or equivalent).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering or in a similar manufacturing environment.
* Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
* Experience delivering preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
* Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and working hours.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
