Job responsibilities
Our Senior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSWs) form an essential and well‑respected part of our healthcare teams across a number of dynamic settings – in the community, in our acute hospitals, or within our theatres teams. Interventional Radiology SHCSWs support patients during image‑guided procedures across acute and non‑acute pathways and assist in the care of patients before and after their procedures.
We facilitate other image‑guided procedures including CT, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy, working closely with Radiologists to provide safe and effective care for our patients. On a rotational basis we also provide support to the Community Diagnostics Hub (CDH) based at the Nightingale Hospital in Sowton.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Core hours are Monday – Friday 08:30 to 16:30. Currently this post involves no night, weekend or bank holiday shifts (subject to change to meet patient needs and service demand).

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026‑7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025‑6 pay bandings.
