We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join a programme with an exciting pipeline of work. You'll be part of a team delivering innovative solutions that help end users operate more effectively and reliably. This role offers variety, challenge, and the chance to make a visible impact. You don't need prior experience in the specific industry domain - we'll provide training where required - but you do need proven experience as a System engineer and a passion for solving complex problems. The Role: As a Systems Engineer, you'll work across the full development lifecycle in an agile team, helping to design, develop and deliver new capabilities. From requirements gathering to design, testing, and problem-solving, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the system. Key responsibilities include: Working with SMEs, architects and product leads to define requirements. Performing functional and technical analysis to guide system design. Producing engineering artefacts such as interface designs, system descriptions, FMEAs and safety documentation. Supporting the creation of operational instructions and training materials. Investigating and resolving issues identified during testing and operations. Reviewing test artefacts and ensuring compliance with standards and processes. Contributing to impact assessments for new releases and change requests. The Person: Essential skills include: Experience in requirements management (ideally with DOORS or similar tools). Knowledge of software architecture in real-time, safety-related, or mission-critical systems. Familiarity with the full systems development lifecycle. Experience working within structured processes in a software environment. Strong communication skills - both written and verbal. Understanding of software development methodologies. Ability to work to schedule and cost constraints. Desired (but not essential): Experience of Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence). Exposure to systems/software design tools (Enterprise Architect, Cameo). Knowledge of infrastructure as code, containerisation, or COTS integration technologies.
