Consultant Medical Oncologist – Melanoma, Skin & Renal Closing date:

This role is based in Brighton with a clinic in Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath, and is part of UHSussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
Outpatient clinical activity, including assessment of melanoma, skin and renal oncology patients.
Caring for general oncology inpatients and reviewing patients in the same day emergency care unit.
Participation in an out of hours oncology on call rota.
Clinical leadership, MDT attendance, and active participation.
Teaching medical students and registrars.
Clinical research opportunities and clinical trial leadership and delivery.
SACT prescribing, clinical governance meetings and ward reviews when appropriate.
Person Specification
MBBS, FRCR or equivalent specialist qualification.
Full and specialist registration with GMC (including licence to practise); eligible for registration within six months of interview.
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Oncology or within six months of receiving it; or proof of equivalent qualifications if trained abroad.
Higher Degree (e.g., MSc, PhD).
Evidence of training across a broad spectrum of oncology tumour sites.
Interest and training for a large gastrointestinal oncology post (if applicable).
Clinical Skills & Experience
Experience in multiple oncology tumour sites.
Knowledge
Broad experience in and outside specialty.
Organisation & Planning
Experience working in multi‑professional teams.
Understanding of NHS clinical governance and resource constraints.
Evidence of managerial skills: achievements or courses attended.
Teaching Skills
Evidence of interest and commitment to teaching.
Recognised teaching qualification.
Academic & Research
Experience in audit participation.
Research experience and publications.
Prizes and honours.
Appropriate academic progression to date.
Personal Attributes
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
