The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking to recruit a Livestock and Landscape Assistant to work at Mary Ardens Farm on either a full-time or part-time, permanent contract.
The successful candidate will take an active role in the care and management of farming livestock and general landscape in the Trusts care. This includes assisting with landscape activities including maintenance of farm boundaries, field water systems, footpaths, biodiversity and water/soil improvements.
Based at Mary Ardens Farm, Wilmcote, Nr Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 9UN
The farm is a livestock farm focusing on rare breeds and rotational low input grazing that also doubles as an educational site.
The post holder will have practical experience with all classes of farming livestock with a recognised animal welfare/agricultural qualifications or willingness to obtain one.
Clear understanding of statutory health and safety and animal welfare legislation and its practical implementation in a general farming environment.
Hands-on, friendly and approachable, you will be equally comfortable working independently, as within a small team.
You will be required to work flexible hours based on the needs of the farm, this will include weekends and Bank Holidays.
There will also be a requirement to attend livestock out of hours as required.
